With the season coming to an end, we are pleased to advise a number of events to look forward to in the coming weeks. They are:
- NZ Barbarians Secondary Schools team v Auckland Schools – Saturday October 26
- Annual General Meeting – Wednesday November 27
- NZ Barbarians Eden Park boxes tickets – application for 2014 tickets
- Club night – Friday October 25 cancelled.
NZ Barbarians Secondary Schools
Although there won’t be an international fixture this year, the NZRU has asked the Barbarians club to support the selection of a second secondary schools side. Its request is to maintain consistency following last year’s Baabaa Schools team selection.
Next year, the NZ Barbarians Schools team will play Australian Schools and Fijian Schools in the 2014 quadrangular tournament.
The 2013 Barbarians Schools team will assemble in Auckland on Friday October 25 at the Millenium Institute on the North Shore.
On Saturday October 26 they will assemble for a planned ‘development coaching session’ with input from the All Blacks, who are assembling prior to their departure to Japan and the UK.
On Saturday afternoon, the team will play an Auckland Schools selection, after which they will be invited to visit the NZ Barbarians clubrooms at Eden Park.
On Sunday October 27 the team will complete a further development session with Mike Cron and a ‘question and answer’ session with the All Blacks has been arranged.
The NZ Barbarians Schools team will play an Auckland Secondary Schools team at St Peter’s College, Mountain Rd, Epsom at 2.30pm on Saturday October 26.
All Barbarian members and friends are welcome to attend. We hope you will be able to join us.
Annual General Meeting
The Annual General Meeting of the NZ Barbarians’ Rugby Football Club will be held in the clubrooms at Eden Park on Wednesday the November 27 at 6.00pm.
A copy of the agenda will be sent with the next newsletter, due out mid-November.
NZ Barbarians’ Eden Park Boxes – 2014 season tickets
The opportunity to ballot for seats in the NZ Barbarians’ RFC Eden Park Boxes for the 2014 season is available for all members and all applications will be considered.
Please get your application in early as we are aware that there is a considerable increase in interest by members for purchasing season tickets in one of the club boxes. Members should have received the application in the last emailed notice.
The closing date for applications is November 6.
Friday club night
The clubrooms at Eden Park will not be open this Friday October 25. Normal Friday club nights will resume on Friday November 1.
