Scott McLeod, assisted by Paul Feeney and Craig Philpott, will coach the New Zealand Barbarians in their July 18 Eden Park fixture against the Maori All Blacks.
McLeod, the former All Blacks midfielder, is currently assistant coach of the in-form Highlanders, while Feeney, a member of the Barbarians club, is Auckland’s ITM Cup coach. Philpott is at the helm of the Hawke’s Bay Magpies. The Barbarians manager will be former Crusaders flanker and current franchise team manager Angus Gardiner.
This will be the first clash between the Barbarians and the Maori since the 2010 centenary series, where the Maori won 37-31 in an entertaining clash at Whangarei’s Toll Stadium.
