To all Barbarian members,
I am writing to you both as Patron of our club but also as a trustee of the NZ Rugby Foundation. This year, the NZ Rugby Foundation is holding its annual lunch at Eden Park on FridayAugust 24, the day before the Bledisloe Cup test vs Australia. We have endeavoured to support the foundation where we can for a number of years and have held joint fundraising events with them. I encourage you to get along to the lunch and enjoy the camaraderie of friends over nice food, wine and entertainment. A flyer outlining the details is attached.
The NZ Rugby Foundation was established by Sir Russell Pettigrew and Kel Tremain in 1988. Since that time, it has supported our severely injured rugby players (VIPs – Very Injured Players) by providing grants for home improvements, education, vehicles and other such things that improve their quality of life.
I am aware that there are other functions on at the same time and they are all for great causes as well.
If you can make this one, it will be greatly appreciated. You will be supporting a great cause. After the lunch, our clubrooms will be open for our members, and the Rugby Foundation patrons including some VIPs.
Warmest regards,
Bryan Williams
Patron
