Gallaher Shield club final
The final of the Auckland premier club championship will be held on Saturday August 3.
The Barbarians’ RFC clubrooms will be open that afternoon and members are welcome to come in for a drink.
There are a very limited and restricted number of seats in the club boxes to view the game.
It would be wise to use the stands to watch the final and come into the clubrooms before and/or after the game.
Barbarians website: www.barbarianrugby.co.nz
If you haven’t looked at the NZ Barbarians RFC website recently, it is high time that you did.
Campbell Burnes, together with David Levin and Ken Baguley, have been updating all the news, events and other information that has occurred over the past months.
They have done a great job and are to be congratulated for the tremendous effort they have given to keeping us up to date.
The information they have brought together will be a great record of the club’s history, its activities, and its members, and will be there for all to see.
Congratulations and well done to Campbell, David and Ken.
Passing of Laly Haddon and Ross Nicholson
It is with sadness that we record the deaths last week of two long-time Barbarians club members – Laly Haddon, a former North Auckland and New Zealand Maori loose forward, and Ross Nicholson, a former honorary medical officer for the New Zealand and Auckland unions. Fuller obituaries will appear in the August newsletters.
